Three texting story script templates you can adapt

These texting story templates are editable writing examples, not downloadable Glance project files or one-click app presets. Copy the structure, rewrite the details and enter the messages in your own project. Each example has a different purpose and a complete ending.

Comedy: the instruction taken literally

Ari: “Can you put the cake somewhere cool?” / Bo: “Done.” / Ari: “Fridge or pantry?” / Bo: “Next to my sunglasses.” / Ari: “Temperature cool.” / Bo: “That explains why the candles are leaning.”

The structure is instruction, confirmation, unexpected interpretation, correction and consequence. Replace the object and misunderstanding together. Keep the setup clear so the joke does not depend on an explanation in the caption.

Suspense: the detail that cannot be true

Jules: “The parcel arrived.” / Ren: “I cancelled that order.” / Jules: “It has tomorrow’s date.” / Ren: “Who signed for it?” / Jules: “I did.” / Ren: “You are still on the train with me.”

The structure is ordinary news, discrepancy, evidence and contradiction. Use one impossible detail. Adding several unrelated mysteries makes a short conversation harder to follow. Time the evidence and final contradiction more slowly than the opening.

Product demo: show the answer

Customer character: “Can I keep this list for tomorrow?” / Creator character: “Yes. Here is the saved project.” / Customer character: “Can I change just one item?” / Creator character: “Watch this.” Add your own short demonstration, then close with a visible result.

This is a staged explanation, not a real customer endorsement. Replace the example with a feature your product currently supports. Let the recording answer the question; remove dialogue that merely repeats the same action.

Turn the template into a finished video

Set the names and incoming or outgoing direction for each message in Glance. Preview the exchange before adding media, narration or camera movement. This makes it easier to tell whether a problem is in the writing or the presentation.

Export a short test and read it once on a phone. Revise any line you cannot comfortably finish. Keep the source project so you can replace the ending or create a different version without reconstructing the layout.
